STANDING ORDER

To

All Circles Inspector of Excise,

Subject: The working of a brewery by brewers under the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964 (Goa Act 5 of 1964), the Information Technology Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a brewery by brewers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every brewer carrying on the working of a brewery shall make an application in Form D to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Circle Inspector of Excise shall ensure that consignment is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Goa.
