OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The repair of firearms by repairers of firearms under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the repair of firearms by repairers of firearms is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937.

2. The matter has been examined. Every repairer of firearms carrying on the repair of firearms shall make an application in Form VI to the Licensing Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the repair of firearms is undertaken, and the Licensing Authority shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
