CIRCULAR

To

All Chief Electrical Inspectors,

Subject: The drawal of electricity under open access by open access consumers under the Electricity Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003), the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission hereby issues the following

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the drawal of electricity under open access by open access consumers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every open access consumer carrying on the drawal of electricity under open access shall make an application in Form VII to the State Commission within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the drawal of electricity under open access is undertaken, and the State Commission shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission.
