OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village is to be regulated under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a rice mill in a village carrying on the running of a rice mill in a village shall make an application in Form 7 to the Zila Parishad within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a rice mill in a village is undertaken, and the Zila Parishad shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Kerala.
