OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters under the Delhi Jal Board Act, 1998, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Environment Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi on the manner in which the extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters is to be regulated under the Delhi Jal Board Act, 1998.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person drawing ground water carrying on the extraction of ground water shall make an application in Form B to the Board within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the extraction of ground water is undertaken, and the Board shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
