STANDING ORDER

All Export Inspectors,

Subject: The development of a Special Economic Zone by developers under the Tamil Nadu Special Economic Zones (Special Provisions) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Special Economic Zones (Special Provisions) Act, 2005 (Tamil Nadu Act 18 of 2005), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the development of a Special Economic Zone by developers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every developer carrying on the development of a Special Economic Zone shall make an application in Form SEZ-2 to the Export Promotion Council within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Export Inspector shall ensure that register of imports is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Export Promotion Council within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
