New Delhi, dated the 3rd January, 2011

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor under the Delhi Excise Act, 2009, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi on the manner in which the import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor is to be regulated under the Delhi Excise Act, 2009.

2. The matter has been examined. Every importer of liquor carrying on the import of liquor into the State shall make an application in Form F to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the import of liquor into the State is undertaken, and the Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
