STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The holding of land by landholders under the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1961 (Tamil Nadu Act 58 of 1961), the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land by landholders.

2. The matter has been examined. Every landholder carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 14 to the Board of Revenue within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that certificate of occupancy is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
