OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Odisha on the manner in which the occupation of land by occupants is to be regulated under the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959.

2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 12 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the occupation of land is undertaken, and the Sub-Divisional Officer shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Odisha.
