STANDING ORDER

To

All Estate Officers,

Subject: The purchase of an apartment by allottees under the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999 (Maharashtra Act 18 of 1999), the Housing Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the purchase of an apartment by allottees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee carrying on the purchase of an apartment shall make an application in Form A to the Competent Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Estate Officer shall ensure that register of projects is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Competent Authority within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Maharashtra.
