OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The salvage of vessels by salvors under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Tourism Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the salvage of vessels by salvors is to be regulated under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981.

2. The matter has been examined. Every salvor carrying on the salvage of vessels shall make an application in Form 7 to the Conservator of the Port within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the salvage of vessels is undertaken, and the Conservator of the Port shall dispose of it within fifteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Gujarat.
