STANDING ORDER

To

All Building Inspectors,

Subject: The connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966 (Maharashtra Act 37 of 1966), the Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a private drain carrying on the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer shall make an application in Form A to the Corporation within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Building Inspector shall ensure that trade licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Corporation within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.
