STANDING ORDER

To

All Licensing Officers,

Subject: The keeping of an eating house by keepers of an eating house under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act 10 of 1937), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of an eating house by keepers of an eating house.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of an eating house carrying on the keeping of an eating house shall make an application in Form III to the Licensing Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Licensing Officer shall ensure that explosive substance is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
