STANDING ORDER

To

All District Child Protection Officers,

Subject: The running of a working women's hostel by working women's hostels under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1982), the Law Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a working women's hostel by working women's hostels.

2. The matter has been examined. Every working women's hostel carrying on the running of a working women's hostel shall make an application in Form III to the District Magistrate within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The District Child Protection Officer shall ensure that individual care plan is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Magistrate within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
