STANDING ORDER
To
All Welfare Officers,
Subject: The provision of medical benefit by insurance medical practitioners under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978 (Kerala Act 20 of 1978), the Labour Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the provision of medical benefit by insurance medical practitioners.
2. The matter has been examined. Every insurance medical practitioner carrying on the provision of medical benefit shall make an application in Form 9 to the Welfare Board within ten days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. The Welfare Officer shall ensure that wage record is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Welfare Board within ten days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Kerala.
