STANDING ORDER

To

All Divisional Canal Officers,

Subject: The discharge of effluent into a stream by person discharging effluent into a streams under the Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority Act, 2005 (Maharashtra Act 18 of 2005), the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the discharge of effluent into a stream by person discharging effluent into a streams.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person discharging effluent into a stream carrying on the discharge of effluent into a stream shall make an application in Form H to the Government of Maharashtra within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Divisional Canal Officer shall ensure that dispute is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Maharashtra within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
