STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Births and Deaths,

Subject: The management of joint family property by managers of a joint family property under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the General Administration Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of joint family property by managers of a joint family property.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manager of a joint family property carrying on the management of joint family property shall make an application in Form VII to the District Court within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Registrar of Births and Deaths shall ensure that order of maintenance is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Court within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
