STANDING ORDER

To

All Tahsildars,

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954 (Delhi Act 8 of 1954), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 1 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that register of holdings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
