STANDING ORDER
To
All Collectors,
Subject: The use of land adjoining an embankment by owners of land adjoining an embankment under the Karnataka Land Reforms Act, 1962, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Land Reforms Act, 1962 (Karnataka Act 10 of 1962), the Law Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of land adjoining an embankment by owners of land adjoining an embankment.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of land adjoining an embankment carrying on the use of land adjoining an embankment shall make an application in Form 7 to the Collector within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. The Collector shall ensure that register of documents is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
