STANDING ORDER
To
All Circle Officers,
Subject: The holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the Home Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee of surplus land carrying on the holding of allotted surplus land shall make an application in Form 5 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and twenty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of West Bengal.
