STANDING ORDER

To

All Auditors of Trusts,

Subject: The performance of rituals in a temple by archakas under the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013 (Maharashtra Act 30 of 2013), the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the performance of rituals in a temple by archakas.

2. The matter has been examined. Every archaka carrying on the performance of rituals in a temple shall make an application in Form C to the Deputy Charity Commissioner within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Auditor of Trusts shall ensure that account is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Deputy Charity Commissioner within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
