OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The execution of electrical installation work by electrical contractors under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Social Welfare Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the execution of electrical installation work by electrical contractors is to be regulated under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every electrical contractor carrying on the execution of electrical installation work shall make an application in Form II to the State Commission within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the execution of electrical installation work is undertaken, and the State Commission shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Gujarat.
