STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Births and Deaths,

Subject: The solemnisation of marriages by Marriage Officers under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the General Administration Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the solemnisation of marriages by Marriage Officers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every Marriage Officer carrying on the solemnisation of marriages shall make an application in Form IV to the Maintenance Tribunal within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Registrar of Births and Deaths shall ensure that inventory of the estate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Maintenance Tribunal within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
