STANDING ORDER

To

All Municipal Engineers,

Subject: The display of advertisements by owners of a hoarding under the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1977, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1977 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1977), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the display of advertisements by owners of a hoarding.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a hoarding carrying on the display of advertisements shall make an application in Form E to the Director of Municipal Administration within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Municipal Engineer shall ensure that drain is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Municipal Administration within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Karnataka.
