STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Registrar of Co-operative Societies,

Subject: The sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors under the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961 (Maharashtra Act 27 of 1961), the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sponsoring of contract farming by contract farming sponsors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contract farming sponsor carrying on the sponsoring of contract farming shall make an application in Form D to the Insecticides Board within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies shall ensure that stock register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Insecticides Board within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Maharashtra.
