STANDING ORDER
To
All Tahsildars,
Subject: The holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Finance Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of Government land carrying on the holding of Government land on lease shall make an application in Form 8 to the Tahsildar within seven days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Punjab.
