STANDING ORDER

To

All Rehabilitation Officers,

Subject: The engagement of sanitation workers by sanitation contractors under the Maharashtra State Reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2018, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra State Reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2018 (Maharashtra Act 62 of 2018), the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the engagement of sanitation workers by sanitation contractors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sanitation contractor carrying on the engagement of sanitation workers shall make an application in Form VI to the State Commissioner within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Rehabilitation Officer shall ensure that grievance is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Commissioner within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra.
