OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The provision of paying guest accommodation by paying guest accommodation providers under the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the provision of paying guest accommodation by paying guest accommodation providers is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017.

2. The matter has been examined. Every paying guest accommodation provider carrying on the provision of paying guest accommodation shall make an application in Form A to the Registrar of Co-operative Housing Societies within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the provision of paying guest accommodation is undertaken, and the Registrar of Co-operative Housing Societies shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
