OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Investment in India by a person resident outside India by overseas investors under the Tamil Nadu Special Economic Zones (Special Provisions) Act, 2005, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which investment in India by a person resident outside India by overseas investors is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Special Economic Zones (Special Provisions) Act, 2005.
2. The matter has been examined. Every overseas investor carrying on investment in India by a person resident outside India shall make an application in Form FC-4 to the Development Commissioner within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which investment in India by a person resident outside India is undertaken, and the Development Commissioner shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
