STANDING ORDER

To

All Gram Sevaks,

Subject: The keeping of a village shop by keepers of a village shop under the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1962, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis Act, 1962 (Maharashtra Act 5 of 1962), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a village shop by keepers of a village shop.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a village shop carrying on the keeping of a village shop shall make an application in Form 6 to the Gram Panchayat within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Gram Sevak shall ensure that muster roll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Panchayat within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Maharashtra.
