OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The command of a ship by masters under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the command of a ship by masters is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board Act, 1995.

2. The matter has been examined. Every master carrying on the command of a ship shall make an application in Form 2 to the Maritime Board within seven days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the command of a ship is undertaken, and the Maritime Board shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
