STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1961), the Law Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 14 to the State Government within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Gujarat.
