OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Mining within a forest area by owners of a mine within a forest under the Tamil Nadu Forest Act, 1882, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which mining within a forest area by owners of a mine within a forest is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Forest Act, 1882.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a mine within a forest carrying on mining within a forest area shall make an application in Form I to the Chief Wild Life Warden within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which mining within a forest area is undertaken, and the Chief Wild Life Warden shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
