STANDING ORDER

To

All Chief Medical Officers,

Subject: Dealing in medical devices by dealers in medical devices under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007 (Karnataka Act 21 of 2007), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in medical devices by dealers in medical devices.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in medical devices carrying on dealing in medical devices shall make an application in Form 19 to the State Medical Council within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Chief Medical Officer shall ensure that medical device is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Medical Council within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
