OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The sub-letting of premises by sub-tenants under the Karnataka Rent Act, 1999, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Housing Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the sub-letting of premises by sub-tenants is to be regulated under the Karnataka Rent Act, 1999.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sub-tenant carrying on the sub-letting of premises shall make an application in Form B to the Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the sub-letting of premises is undertaken, and the Authority shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Karnataka.
