STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Commissioners,

Subject: The provision of access to a public building by owners of a public building under the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts) Act, 2018 (Karnataka Act 2 of 2018), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the provision of access to a public building by owners of a public building.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a public building carrying on the provision of access to a public building shall make an application in Form IV to the Chief Commissioner within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Deputy Commissioner shall ensure that register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Commissioner within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
