STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Development Officers,

Subject: The keeping of a cattle pound by owners of a cattle pound under the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1993), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a cattle pound by owners of a cattle pound.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a cattle pound carrying on the keeping of a cattle pound shall make an application in Form 5 to the District Panchayat within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Village Development Officer shall ensure that muster roll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Panchayat within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Karnataka.
