STANDING ORDER

To

All Junior Engineers,

Subject: Fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir under the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Ground Water (Regulation and Control of Development and Management) Act, 2011 (Karnataka Act 25 of 2011), the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fishery in a reservoir carrying on fishing in a reservoir shall make an application in Form D to the Board within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Junior Engineer shall ensure that sample of water is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Karnataka.
