OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The receipt of benefits as a nominee by nominees of an insured person under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Labour Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the receipt of benefits as a nominee by nominees of an insured person is to be regulated under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978.

2. The matter has been examined. Every nominee of an insured person carrying on the receipt of benefits as a nominee shall make an application in Form 16 to the Medical Benefit Council within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the receipt of benefits as a nominee is undertaken, and the Medical Benefit Council shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Kerala.
