STANDING ORDER

To

All Assessors,

Subject: The connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966 (Maharashtra Act 37 of 1966), the General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer by owners of a private drain.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a private drain carrying on the connection of a private drain to the municipal sewer shall make an application in Form D to the Commissioner within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Assessor shall ensure that sanitary certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commissioner within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Maharashtra.
