OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The running of a cinema by operators of a cinema within the municipal limits under the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the running of a cinema by operators of a cinema within the municipal limits is to be regulated under the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919.
2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a cinema within the municipal limits carrying on the running of a cinema shall make an application in Form D to the Town Planning Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the running of a cinema is undertaken, and the Town Planning Authority shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
