STANDING ORDER
To
All Sheristadars,
Subject: The service of process by process servers under the Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1955 (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1955), the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the service of process by process servers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every process server carrying on the service of process shall make an application in Form A to the Registrar within seven days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Sheristadar shall ensure that process is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
