STANDING ORDER

All Forest Officers,

Subject: Dealing in wild animal articles by dealers in wild animal articles under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (Kerala Act 4 of 1961), the Housing Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in wild animal articles by dealers in wild animal articles.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in wild animal articles carrying on dealing in wild animal articles shall make an application in Form II to the Environmental Appellate Authority within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Forest Officer shall ensure that wild animal article is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Environmental Appellate Authority within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Kerala.
