STANDING ORDER
To
All Assistants Superintendent of Stamps,
Subject: The issue of policies of insurance by insurer issuing policies under the Maharashtra Stamp Act, 1958, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Stamp Act, 1958 (Maharashtra Act 60 of 1958), the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the issue of policies of insurance by insurer issuing policies.
2. The matter has been examined. Every insurer issuing policies carrying on the issue of policies of insurance shall make an application in Form C to the Sub-Registrar within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. The Assistant Superintendent of Stamps shall ensure that instrument is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Registrar within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Maharashtra.
