STANDING ORDER

To

All Ward Officers,

Subject: The collection of solid waste by contractors for solid waste collection under the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Town Planning and Urban Development Act, 1976 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1976), the Revenue Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the collection of solid waste by contractors for solid waste collection.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for solid waste collection carrying on the collection of solid waste shall make an application in Form E to the Development Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Ward Officer shall ensure that notice of demolition is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Development Authority within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Gujarat.
