STANDING ORDER

To

All Building Inspectors,

Subject: The running of a parking lot by operators of a parking lot under the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1977, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1977 (Karnataka Act 14 of 1977), the Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a parking lot by operators of a parking lot.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a parking lot carrying on the running of a parking lot shall make an application in Form E to the Director of Municipal Administration within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Building Inspector shall ensure that vending certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Municipal Administration within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
