OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The employment of inter-State migrant workmen by employers of inter-State migrant workmen under the Maharashtra Recognition of Trade Unions and Prevention of Unfair Labour Practices Act, 1972, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the employment of inter-State migrant workmen by employers of inter-State migrant workmen is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Recognition of Trade Unions and Prevention of Unfair Labour Practices Act, 1972.
2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of inter-State migrant workmen carrying on the employment of inter-State migrant workmen shall make an application in Form V to the Industrial Tribunal within ten days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the employment of inter-State migrant workmen is undertaken, and the Industrial Tribunal shall dispose of it within ten days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Maharashtra.
