OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The exhibition of films by exhibitors under the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the exhibition of films by exhibitors is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1953.

2. The matter has been examined. Every exhibitor carrying on the exhibition of films shall make an application in Form VIII to the Press Registrar within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the exhibition of films is undertaken, and the Press Registrar shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Maharashtra.
