STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Housing Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person converting agricultural land carrying on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use shall make an application in Form 7 to the Tahsildar within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that parcel of land is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Punjab.
