OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The storage of foodgrains by storages operator of foodgrains under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2021, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the storage of foodgrains by storages operator of foodgrains is to be regulated under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2021.

2. The matter has been examined. Every storage operator of foodgrains carrying on the storage of foodgrains shall make an application in Form B to the Food Safety Appellate Tribunal within seven days, accompanied by a fee of seven thousand five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the storage of foodgrains is undertaken, and the Food Safety Appellate Tribunal shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Karnataka.
